Harvey Gulf International Marine has announced it has become the first and only company in the US to own and operate a ‘tri-fuel’ vessel, as well as a vessel bunkering facility, selling both diesel fuel and LNG.
New Orleans-headquartered Harvey Gulf completed the installation of a Wärtsilä battery power system on its Harvey Energy platform supply vessel (PSV), which was already a dual-fuel vessel capable of fully operating on LNG or diesel.
At the same time, Harvey Gulf announced it has commenced operations at its new diesel bunkering facility in Port Fourchon, LA, pairing it with its LNG bunkering operations at the port. The company will also complete installation of a GE battery-power system on the Harvey Champion PSV this month.
