Carnival Cruise Line's LNG-fuelled Mardi Gras cruise ship has made its US debut, docking for the first time at Port Canaveral's Cruise Terminal 3.

As previously reported, the cruise facility is the homeport for the vessel, which is the first LNG-fuelled cruise ship to be based in the North America.

‘Mardi Gras has been five years in the making and today's arrival is a historic milestone for our company not to mention a truly emotional moment for everyone here at Carnival Cruise Line,’ said Carnival President Christine Duffy.

The vessel, which features an onboard rollercoaster, was delivered to Carnival in December 2020, and was bunkered in the Port Rotterdam shortly after.

The vessel will be bunkered by the Q-LNG 4000 bunker barge, which became operational earlier this year.
