A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Monday (6 January) for a new production plant in Shanghai that will be looking to produce 100,000 tonnes of green methanol a year.

The green methanol will be produced from wet waste and animal manure.

Partners in the project include: the Shanghai Chemical Industry Zone Management Committee; Shenergy Group; Huayi Group; Shanghai Huayi Energy Chemical Co., Ltd.; Tianchen Company; and the Shanghai Chemical Industry Zone Development Company.
