The former COO of Trefoil will lead the low sulphur bunker supplier in realising its growth ambitions in the ARA region and, in particular, in the Mediterranean.
Elfrink left Trefoil last month and in his new role he will also be actively involved with Orim Energy’s trading team. Describing his appointment as ‘a logical and exciting next step’, the company noted that it is ‘well-positioned to deliver its growth ambitions and to realise its true potential in the highly competitive bunkering market’.
As reported by Bunkerspot, established in 2014 Orim Energy has focused on the supply of low sulphur fuel in the ARA region. In February 2019, it announced that it had developed and made the first delivery of a very low sulphur fuel oil (VLSFO) for IMO 2020 compliance. At the time the company noted that: ‘Strategically located in the Netherlands and Malta, we have built a leading position as a supplier in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) market and are expanding into the Mediterranean.’
