A total of 478 vessels called at the Port of Gibraltar for marine fuel last month – 69 more than the 409 recorded in March 2020.

Last month’s total also represents a month-on-month (m-o-m) increase of 123 compared with the 355 calls recorded in February.

The total number of vessels that called at the Mediterranean port last month, 755, was 34 up on the 721 calls in March 2020, and 180 up on the 575 calls in February 2021.

Total gross tonnage for all vessels in March, 21,171,570, was 4.6% down on the 22,183,693 GT recorded in March 2020, but 37% up on the 15,451,400 registered in February 2021.

As with both March 2020 and February 2021, there were no commercial ship-to-ship operations last month.

During the first three months of the year, a total of 1,298 vessels called for bunkers at the Port of Gibraltar – compared with 1,251 calls during the same period in 2020.
