Avenir LNG has announced that it has completed its first LNG delivery to the newly commissioned Hamina LNG terminal in Finland.
The LNG cargo was loaded by Avenir Supply & Trading onboard its 7,500 cubic metre (cbm)-capacity Avenir Aspiration – a dual-purpose, LNG supply and bunkering vessel - from the Murgardos terminal in Spain, the company said in a social media post yesterday (22 November). Avenir LNG also noted that sister vessel, Avenir Ascension, is currently sailing towards Hamina for the company’s second unloading ‘in a few days’ time’.
As previously reported, the 30,000 cubic metre-capacity Hamina LNG terminal started commercial operations at the beginning of October. Speaking to Bunkerspot last month, Hamina LNG CEO Tuula Liukko confirmed that other services available at the terminal include ex-pipe LNG bunkering.
At the end of October, Titan announced that the Optimus, a 6,200 cbm-capacity LNG bunker vessel (LBV) chartered from Estonia-headquartered Elenger, discharged cargo in the new terminal.
