Energy major Shell has taken delivery of Europe’s largest inland LNG bunkering vessel – the 8,000 cubic metre (cbm) capacity Energy Stockholm – at the GATE terminal in Rotterdam.

In a notice posted on LinkedIn today (18 November), Dexter Belmar, General Manager and Head of Global Downstream LNG at Shell, said that the Energy Stockholm, which was delivered on 15 November, completed her first loading operation at the GATE terminal and has ‘also been spotted doing an operation with her “little sister” LNG London in the Port of Rotterdam recently’.

Belmar added that the Energy Stockholm will be operating in Zeebrugge, Antwerp, Rotterdam, and Amsterdam.

As previously reported, the Energy Stockholm is owned and operated by LNG Shipping, a joint venture between Victrol and Sogestran, and is now on a long-term time charter to Shell. The vessel left the RMK shipyard in September and was christened last Wednesday (13 November).
