Bunker industry veteran Grant Norton took up a new role as Marketing Manager Europe at the 50:50 joint venture between BP and Sinopec Fuel Oil at the beginning of March.

Norton has moved to BP Sinopec Marine Fuels from a position as Partnership Director at the marine fuels and lubricants digital procurement platform, Bulugo. His career includes a long stint at BP, including nearly 10 years as International Sales and Global Marketing Manager for the energy major’s marine fuels business.

Norton’s focus at BP Sinopec Marine Fuels will be on the joint venture’s European customers, encompassing their global bunkering operations.

Based in Singapore, BP Sinopec Marine Fuels was established in 2015 as a continuation and extension of a long working partnership between BP and Sinopec. At the announcement of the joint venture, the companies said that the business would focus on the ports of Singapore; Fujairah, United Arab Emirates; Antwerp, Belgium; Rotterdam and Amsterdam in the Netherlands; Tianjin, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo and Shenzhen, China.
