Purus Marine has ordered two 98,000 cubic metre (cbm) very large ethane carriers (VLEC) that will feature dual-fuel ethane engines.

The vessels, which are scheduled for delivery in 2026 and 2027, will be built at Hyundai Heavy Industries in South Korea, Purus said in a statement on Friday (17 November).

Both vessels will be delivered directly into long-term time charters.
