Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) has announced that the Green Winds, a new 63,896 DWT Ultramax bulk carrier equipped with the Wind Challenger hard sail wind power propulsion system, was completed today (10 July) by Nagasaki-based Oshima Shipbuilding.

MOL Drybulk will operate the Green Winds, which is in the second of nine MOL Group vessels that have been or will be equipped with the Wind Challenger.

With the Wind Challenger in operation, the Green Winds’ fuel consumption is expected to be reduced by about 7%-16%, depending on its route and other conditions.
