Mitsui O.S.K. Lines and Toho Gas Co. collaborated in the supply of LNG bunkers to the tugboat Ishin at the Japanese port.

During the operation, LNG was transported by truck from the Toho Gas Chita-Midorihama LNG Terminal in the Aichi Prefecture and supplied via truck to ship transfer to the Ishin, which was berthed at the Port of Nagoya’s Garden Pier.

Other companies taking part in the demonstration teste were Niyac Corporation, which provides LNG land transportation for Toho Gas, MOL Marine Co. Ltd, which provides maritime consultancy services, and the operator of the Ishin, the Nihon-Tug-Boat Co.

As previously reported, in September the first LNG bunkering took place at the Port of Kobe, when the Ishin was bunkered with LNG supplied by Osaka Gas Company’s Himeji LNG plant.
